Whereas, the Tuesday Toasters of Toastmasters International is a a non-profit, educational organization dedicated to improving communication and leadership skills;
and . . . .

. . . . Mayor of the City of Kingsport, Tennessee, do herby proclaim the week of May 2 through 11, 1998 as "Tuesday Toastmasters Week" in Kingsport an urge my fellow citizens to observe this worthy occasion.

ABC news coverage of Tuesday Toasters presentation of the Communication and Leadership Award.

The C&L Award is presented to an non-Toastmaster who represents the skills of communication and leadership that Toastmasters promotes. Our committee has selected Robert (Bob) Frederick as the recipient of the award on this occasion of our 30 Year Anniversary of Tuesday Toasters.

Wendy and Luther Wendy Lick introduces Luther Travis as Toastmaster of the Day.

Everyone watched as Wendy delicately stepped down from the lectern. This was one of her last club meetings before leaving Eastman on maternity leave. Several weeks later, she gave birth to a beautiful baby girl.

. . .and little did Luther know that when this baby girl would be born, he would be serving as Area Governor.

Baxter delivered his "The Real Meaning of Meetings and Tips From Successful Slackers for Office Workers in the Tradition of Dilbert" speech that won the 1997 Division East Humorous Speech contest. Everyone who has ever attended a meeting could identify with the many tips and tricks that Baxter shared with the audience.

Received the "Bone of the Day" at this 30th Anniversary meeting for turning his Table Topics answer into his 5 year old explanation as to why he did NOT deserve to receive the "Bone of the Day" at the Tuesday Toasters' 25th Anniversary meeting.

Jack Trexler Jack Trexler

As General Evaluator of the day, it appears that Jack is standing on stage in the dark. However, he provided a lot of insights to help "enlighten" each of the participants as well as helping guests and visitors better understand the purpose of Toastmasters and the mission of Tuesday Toasters.
